Ethical sourcing and modern slavery

Standards for suppliers and business partners.

Medwear Academy Limited · Version 1.1 · 30 October 2026

Our standard

Medwear Academy Limited opposes slavery, servitude, forced labour, trafficking, child exploitation, bribery and coercion. This policy sets expectations for manufacturers, intermediaries and service providers. It is not a signed statutory annual statement or a claim that every supplier has been independently audited.

Supplier information and product evidence

Before a supplier or product is approved, the responsible reviewer must consider business identity, manufacturing and dispatch locations, subcontracting, samples, quality checks, lead times, returns and traceability. Certificates and test reports must be checked for their issuing body, validity and relevance to the exact product. A marketplace badge or general certificate alone does not prove compliance.

Worker protection

Suppliers are expected to respect lawful pay, working hours, safe conditions and workers’ freedom to leave employment. Recruitment-related debt, document confiscation, threats, forced overtime and unlawful recruitment charges are unacceptable. Suppliers should explain how they recruit workers and manage subcontractors when asked as part of proportionate checks.

Reporting concerns

Use the contact form and mark the message “Ethical sourcing concern — Director”, with a safe way to respond. Request a secure route for sensitive evidence. Reports should be assessed without retaliation and with confidentiality protected as far as lawful and practical. For immediate danger call 999. Do not confront a suspected exploiter or take steps that could endanger a worker.

Responding and reviewing

The Director is responsible for arranging proportionate investigation, specialist advice where appropriate, and recorded corrective action. Responses should consider worker safety and remedy. Supplier checks and completed actions must be supported by records; this policy does not claim that continuous monitoring or historic audits have taken place. Review after a significant concern or a material change in the supply chain.

Honest claims and responsible purchasing

Suppliers must not offer bribes, falsify certification, conceal subcontractors or make unsupported environmental, origin or safety claims. Product suitability, intellectual-property permissions and traceability must be checked before sale, including permission to sell digital content. Concerns should be recorded, reviewed proportionately and considered before further orders. Suspected unsafe products must not continue to be offered while the relevant safety evidence is unresolved.
